WORDS OF WISDOM FROM CHEF (& DISHWASHER!)

I unfortunately have no kitchen skills aside from washing dishes ;-D This recipe was really from Ate Emma - but I added the crispy onions!

(Kata's initial response when I asked for a recipe... but then she relented and shared this one!)

Ingredients

  • Salmon filets (get them at Costco!)
  • Mayo
  • Asian oyster sauce
  • Fried crisy onions (like French's)
  • Optional: dash of Chili Garlic Sauce (cuz I know Antonio likes a bit of heat!)
  • Toasted seaweed snacks (like these)
  •  Rice

Equipment

  • Baking sheet or grill pan (line baking sheet with foil or parchment; or use tsp of sesame oil on grill pan)
  • Rice cooker

Instructions

  1. Prepare pan and preheat oven to 400°F. Start your rice cooker.
  2. Place filets on pan skin side down. Spread generous layer of mayo over the salmon.
  3. Top mayo with generous layer of Asian oyster sauce (and chili sauce if you like). Bake for 15 minutes. (You may have to adjust the baking time depending on the thickness of the filets.)
  4. Add crisy onions and cook another 5 minutes. (Add the onions near the end and watch so they don't burn.)
  5. Remove and allow to rest briefly. Serve with rice and seaweed.
